Player Profile
The midfielder provides tenacity and versatility, as he can play in the centre, on the right or at full-back. Komac started five of the first six World Cup qualifiers but his only involvement in the second half of the campaign was as a substitute in September’s home win over Poland.
Four days earlier he played the last 25 minutes of the friendly defeat by England at Wembley. He offers excellent delivery from crosses and set pieces.
Half of his 20 appearances for Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv this season came as a substitute. He joined Maccabi last summer after three years in the Swedish top flight with Djurgardens. The early part of his career was spent in Slovenia, with a first unsuccessful stint abroad coming with Portuguese side Maritimo in 2005/06.
