Player Profile
Born in Switzerland, Kuzmanovic was described by then Stuttgart coach, Marcus Babbel as the ‘epitome of the modern midfielder’ when he signed him in the summer of 2009.
He enjoyed a solid first season in the Bundesliga following his move from Italian club Fiorentina and scored twice in the Champions League, against Sevilla and Rangers.
Despite representing his native Switzerland at under-21 level, Kuzmanovic has Bosnian-Serb parentage and that influenced his decision when he chose to play for Serbia in the summer of 2007, saying “I'm Serbian and I want to give all for my country. It's a matter of what you feel in your heart and I must listen to it.”
He played six qualifying matches and scored in a win over Romania. He was also on target against Algeria in a friendly in March.
