Player Profile

Bobadilla will provide cover for Justo Villar as he did at the last World Cup, when an injury to the Paraguayan number one meant he played all three games. He came off the bench against England and started the remaining two games, keeping a clean sheet in the win against Trinidad and Tobago.

The 6ft 4in (1.94m) tall keeper has spent the last three years playing for Independiente Medellin in the Colombian top flight, helping them win the title last December

He made his name with Paraguayan outfit Cerro Porteno before twice trying his luck in Argentina, with Gimnasia and Boca Juniors, although neither move worked out.

Bobadilla made only one appearance in qualifying, replacing the injured Justo Villar in the 4-2 loss away to Bolivia. He was at fault for two goals - Bolivia’s second was a 40-yard daisy-cutter he should have saved, while the third was a rebound after he had fumbled another long-range effort.
