Probably the second choice left-back, Torres is likely to find himself behind Carlos Salcido in the pecking order, although he has performed well in recent friendlies. He made his Mexico debut in 2008, but didn't feature in any of the qualifiers.
Torres made his professional debut with FC Atlas in 2006 and has been a regular starter for the last two seasons. He is apparently nicknamed 'El Pechu' because of his prominent ribs (from pechuga meaning chicken breast).
