One of a number of the players in South Africa who were part of the Mexico team which won the Under-17 World Championship in 2005, Juarez is a right-back who can also play as a defensive midfielder.
The 22-year-old only made his debut last year but has already established himself as a favourite of coach Javier Aguirre and was a key member of the team that won the 2009 Concacaf Gold Cup.
Following Mexico’s triumph at the Under-17 World Cup, Juarez was snapped up by Barcelona but failed to break into the first team and returned to Mexico with Pumas, where he had trained as a youth. He won the Clausra league title (champions of the second half of the season) with Pumas in 2008/09.
Juarez reportedly held talks with Everton when he left Barcelona but instead returned to his homeland.
