Once a highly-rated youngster who captained the Ivory Coast at under-20 level, Gosso was a marginal selection for the World Cup after infrequent appearances for French club side Monaco and his failure to make it off the bench at the Africa Cup of Nations.
He got his first taste of regular first-team football with Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca where he spent five years before angering supporters by controversially signing for Israeli club Ashdod.
He excelled in the Israeli league, however, and earned himself a trial at Monaco in the summer of 2008. It was a success and he played 31 league matches in an excellent debut season at the club.
This year has not been as rewarding and he has completed a full 90 minutes on only three occasions.
