Veteran Valladeres is likely to be first choice despite a strong challenge from his Olimpia team-mate Donis Escober.
He was an ever-present in qualifying, conceding just 11 goals in 10 games in his country’s final qualifying group, including a clean sheet in the crucial 1-0 victory against El Salvador in their final game.
Valladares is not without his critics though. He came in for plenty of stick after a poor performance in November’s 2-1 friendly defeat against Peru.
Popular Honduran newspaper El Heraldo went as far as dedicating two pages to his performance, calling for him to be replaced by Escober.
Valladares, who was a member of the Honduras squad at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, began his career as a striker. He played up front several times for his former club Motagua.
