Player profile
The Italy-based striker, who has been on loan at Genoa from Inter Milan, won his 50th cap in the World Cup warm-up draw against Belarus.
He believes Honduras could cause a massive upset in Group H. “It would be a lie to say that we can’t beat Spain - anything can happen,” he said.
Suazo lived up to his name in 2006 by collecting the 'Oscar del Calcio', an award for Most Outstanding Foreign Player in Serie A.
He was Serie A’s third top goalscorer in the 2005/2006 season with 22 goals in 37 matches for Cagliari. He shared the award with AC Milan’s Brazilian Kaka.
Suazo, more than most, can empathise with the kidnap tragedy that struck Wilson Palacios last year. Suazo’s brother was kidnapped for three weeks but, unlike the tragic Edwin Rene Palacios, was returned unharmed.
