Player Profile
Adiyiah was named as the best player at last year’s Under-20 World Cup thanks to his eight goals in seven games which helped Ghana lift the trophy.
After his Golden Boot-winning heroics, he was swiftly fast-tracked to the senior international side and was part of the squad that reached the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, although he only made two brief substitute appearances.
He began his career at the Feyenoord Academy in Ghana before switching to Hearts of Lions where his goals caught the attention of scouts from across Europe. He ended up at Norwegian Premier League side Fredrikstad in 2008, but he remained on the fringes of the first team.
After the Under-20 World Cup, Italian side AC Milan were quick to snap him up in a reported €500,000 (£410,000) deal in January and although he has yet to make his debut, he has been signed as one for the future.
He was named as the Confederation of African Football 2009 Young Player of the Year.
