Player profile

Agyei was one of the stars of Ghana’s win at last year’s Fifa Under-20 World Cup. He kept a clean sheet after 120 minutes of action in the final against Brazil, then went on to save three penalties in the shoot-out as Ghana triumphed 4-3. He was also part of the team last year that won West African and African youth titles.

His performances earned him a call-up to the senior team for a friendly with Angola in November 2009, and he was back-up to Richard Kingson at the Africa Cup of Nations. He made his full debut in a 2-1 defeat to Bosnia-Herzegovina in March.

He currently plays for Liberty Professionals, whom he signed for from BT International, an Adabraka-based youth team. He is said to be nicknamed ‘Damba’ due to his agility and bravery.
