Player profile
The Chelsea player is now firmly back in the international fold after falling out with coach Raymond Domenech following Euro 2008.
Malouda accused his coach of making him a scapegoat following France’s disastrous showing in Austria and Switzerland and although he was retained for the start of the World Cup qualifying campaign, he did not play for the national side for nine months before returning in June 2009.
Born in Guyana, the left-winger was a key part of the France side at the 2006 World Cup and won a penalty in the final against Italy when he was fouled by Marco Materazzi.
Malouda impressed with 12 goals in 40 appearances for Chelsea this season as Carlo Ancelotti’s side won the Premier League and FA Cup double, having been persuaded to join the London club for £13.5m in the summer of 2007 by close friend Didier Drogba.
In his spare time, Malouda visits recording studios in Paris, organises music festivals in South America and likes to spend time with rapper/musician Wyclef Jean in New York.
