Luis Aragones believes his Spain side can do well at the World Cup following their impressive 4-0 win over Ukraine.
Valencia's Villa has made a great start to the World Cup
Xabi Alonso, Fernando Torres and two goals from David Villa gave the Spanish a great start to their campaign.
"If we show what we can do I know we can be among the top teams at this tournament," said the Spain coach.
"At first I thought it was going to be more complicated but the second goal made Ukraine more crestfallen and the rest was easier."
He added: "We didn't expect such a good start, but we were lucky to score early goals from two set pieces and that gave us the calmness we needed and created more space so that we could control the game.
"We need to make a fair analysis of the game. We enjoyed all the luck and it's very difficult to win 4-0 in a World Cup, but what is clear is that the players knew exactly what they had to do.
"Historically we have done nothing even though we have attended World Cups for the last 30 years. This time we hope to do something, but we've got a very difficult game in five days against Tunisia.
"We have to take each game at a time and Tunisia are a better footballing side than Ukraine. We've got great respect for all our rivals and that goes for Tunisia as well."
Two-goal hero Villa added: "I am very pleased with the goals and in particular the win.
"We hope it will be the first step in a good World Cup for Spain. We gave our all, the fans have enjoyed themselves."
