Tonights game would have been a great final! Mexico played a really good game and were a bit unlucky on the night!

2226: Biskot
I thought Joe Cole's goal was special, Maxi's is the icing on the cake!

2206: NadalFederer
Justice is done! What a goal. Still lots of time for Mexico, if they can do something.

As a neutral, I think this is brilliant. Can all the partisans please cut it out an appreciate a truly great game of football. Yes, the reffing and decision making has been dodgy, but it's been the same for both sides (no red card for Heinze, last minute disallowed Argentine goal actually onside).

Extra time now...bring it on!

2135: Biskot
Mexico losing their discipline and Marquez might get sent off. Argies might just pip them to the tape, if they're not careful.

Two very good teams playing. Don't care who wins - they would both beat England easily!

2123: PrinceILS
What happened to Argentina! Is this Argentina who crushed Serbia 6-0. Wonderful game so far for Mexico.

Does anyone know why Maradona wears a watch on both wrists?

2110: Erp0033
I'd much prefer to see a referee like this Swiss fellow that allows the teams to play a little more loosely, than to see one stifled by obscene amounts of yellow and red cards.

That last call could have gone either way. I think convincing arguments could be made for both red and yellow cards there. The important thing is that this game is being refereed consistently better than any one I have seen yet.

2100: Mainstay
1-1 at halftime and it's a good game. Mexico have been more than a match for Argentina and Heinze was lucky not to have been sent off. You just know that if he had been from one of the unfashionable countries, he'd have walked.

Guaranteed crespo goal. Look at it on zoom. His foot wobbles as the ball hits it. Not an own goal, it was Crespo's.

2056: Kop Prophet
Once again, the referee influences the game. The striker would have been clean through on goal - Cambiaso was not in the vicinity. By the letter of the law, that was a red card for Heinze. Moreso if it had been a German stiker - Lukic was sent of for much less than that in the earlier game!

2054: CrackerOne
Thought Heinze should have walked but that aside the ref has contributed to the game and made it free flowing and excellent to watch so credit to him.

2051: Shankley'sGhost
I've been saying to anyone that would listen (including some that wouldn't) that Mexico are a tough side that plays hard for every minute. This is a bad match-up for Argentina: Mexico have had success against them in the past and they aren't scared of the Argentines.

2045: bluevaio
The advantage Argentina has is that they're good at playing the same tempo for more than 90 minutes! This game could very well reach 120 minutes...

2012: Cracker One
Exact opposite start to what I expected as I thought it'd be cagey - but what a start! Early days but shows you can never tell anything by group games. It's when the chips are down it matters.

1959: Googsie
I'm surprised how everyone even the so called pundits are predicting defeat for Germany against Argentina, even before Argentina qualifies for the QF, I think its great disrespect to Mexico. This is the knockout amd Mexico have a chance of causing an upset......watch this space!

1948: Tiger Soup
This is one of those dicey games... Would hate to see Argentina out... they have lightened this World Cup up with their sleek passing... I think Argentina will step up a notch here.

1918: ernam
Should be a great game. I'm predicting an upset. Mexico over Argentina 2 to 1.

1906: Kobashi05
Really looking forward to seeing Argentina again. A joy to watch! What an awesome bench.
