Italy appear to suffer more injury problems when substitute Vincenzo Iaquinta is stretchered off after a cynical tackle

But the striker makes a speedy recovery to take advantage of Samuel Kuffour's underhit backpass to make it 2-0

The relief is evident for the Italians as the entire squad races down the touchline to join in the celebrations

Essien's Ghana now know they must beat the Czech Republic in their next game to stand any chance of progressing
