The match-winner Freddie Ljungberg leads Sweden's ratings with 8.42. Goalkeeper Aldo Bobadilla who could little to prevent the winner has 9.17 for Paraguay.

FULL TIME: Freddie Ljungberg's late strike wins it for Sweden and sends Paraguay home. The result means that the winner the England v Sweden group will top the group. But Sweden aren't safe yet. They will need a point from that match to go through.

90 mins: Freddie Ljungberg almost grabs his and Sweden's second with a curling shot that is pushed round the post. The Sweden fans are delirious still.

88 mins: GOAL Sweden 1-0 Paraguay
Freddie Ljungberg has won it for Sweden. The Arsenal star steams in and plants his header past Aldo Bobadilla for the winner. Marcus Allback can take some credit after his superb header finds the midfielder.

83 mins: Even the thousands of Sweden fans have become subdued with the match. It certainly hasn't materialised in to the entertaining match that it promised to be.

80 mins: Things just aren't running for Sweden now and Marcus Allback's swivelled shot from two yards out is gobbled up by Aldo Bobadilla. The Swedes are left wondering what the outcome would have been had Zlatan Ibrahimovic been on the field.

79 mins: Long-range efforts are the theme of the match and Jorge Nunez slaps one from all of 45 yards that almost catches Andreas Ikasson out.

77 mins: A quick flowing move from Paraguay results in Nelson Valdez trying his luck from 30 yards. But his effort goes the way of most of them before - in the hands of the goalkeeper.

70 mins: The game is starting to look like Sweden's first match against Trinidad and Tobago. The Swedes are huffing and puffing but Paraguay are turning them away with ease. The cool Lars Lagerback though shows the same calm under pressure that compatriot Sven-Goran Eriksson expresses for England.

67 mins: The exhausted Christian Wilhelmsson is replaced. He's given his all but Sweden need more than a few fancy tricks in midfield if they are to break this stubborn resistance down. Maybe Mattias Jonson can provide it. Sweden's full-backs have to do more and have to get involved in attack like Brazil's full-backs do.

Sweden have to get the ball back earlier; they need to press the ball and are not doing that.
BBC Five Live summariser Martin Jol.

62 mins: Paraguayan player of the year Julio Dos Santos comes on for Christian Riveros and a surprising change up front sees Roque Santa Cruz come off for Dante Lopez. Maybe coach Anibal Ruiz sees something the Paraguayan fans don't as the tall striker looked to be their most threatening option in attack.

59 mins: Marcus Allback is denied a goal by the heroic Denis Caniza who just like John Terry for England earlier, clears off the line. Allback lofted the ball over Aldo Bobadilla only for the defender to race back and scrambles it to safety.

56 mins: Paraguay look isolated up front now. The South Americans need to push up in support of Roque Santa Cruz and Nelson Valdez. Roberto Acuna though decides to stay deep and try a shot from distance.

54 mins: Roberto Acuna trips Freddie Ljungberg right on the edge of the Paraguay box. Henrik Larsson steps over the free-kick and whips it round the wall. Aldo Bobadilla palms it away and denies the former Celtic striker Sweden's opener.

50 mins: Nelson Valdez jinks his way past Olof Mellberg as Paraguay look to catch Sweden on the counter. Zlatan Ibrahimovic fails to re-appear for Sweden. He was rubbing his groin when he came off at half time and their talisman departs for former Aston Villa striker Marcus Allback.

HALF TIME: Referee Lubos Michel brings the half to an end with Kim Kallstrom having the best of the chances with his long-range rocket. But Paraguay will fancy their chances still, especially if Roque Santa Cruz is given room to roam.

"Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a such a gifted player but he is not a finisher. If he can learn that he will be a world beater."
BBC Five Live summariser Martin Jol.

41 mins: Zlatan Ibrahimovic beats the Paraguay offside trap but maybe with a lack of confidence, side-foots his effort straight at the keeper.

40 mins: The threat of Jorge Nunez down the left almost provides a shock lead for Paraguay but his blast sails past Andreas Ikasson's left post.

35 mins: Sweden have enjoyed 60% of the posession but as yet, no goals. They have been in this situation before against Trinidad and Tobago and will want to avoid another panic.

32 mins: As you would expect from two sides needing a win, the game is open and clear spaces are plentiful. Nelson Valdez takes advantage of some poor marking and Roque Santa Cruz's knock down allows him a shot on goal. Valdez though belts his drive to row Z to the delight of the Swedes.

27 mins: Christian Wilhelmsson and Freddie Ljungberg are relishing the space they have down the flanks. The two combine inside the Paraguay box but the latter fluffs his lines when clean through.

25 mins: Paraguay have settled down after the frantic start imposed on them. Roque Santa Cruz is seeing far more of the ball than he did against England.

PLAYER RATER: 71% expect Sweden to join England as Group B qualifiers, 17 % believe Paraguay will make it while 12% favour Trinidad and Tobago.

20 mins: Jorge Nunez looks to be Paraguay's best outlet down the left. He whips in a corner with his sweet left foot that causes confusion in the Sweden box. But they will have to think of another plan if they intend to beat the lofty Olof Mellberg and Teddy Lucic in the air.

16 mins: It's all Sweden at the moment, Freddie Ljungberg is having it all his own way down the left. His pass to Zlatan Ibrahimovic allows the tall striker to lay in Henrik Larsson who fails to make a clean connection on his shot and the goalkeeper tidies up the loose ball.

14 mins: Tobias Linderoth finds himself in the referee's book with a clumsy challenge. He'll have to be careful now as another booking will see him miss the big match with England on Tuesday.

12 mins: Not to be outdone by his midfield partner Kim Kallstrom, Christian Wilhelmsson sweetly connects with a Henrik Larsson knock-down that drifts inches wide.

9 mins: Kim Kallstrom cracks a rasping 25-yarder forcing Aldo Bobadilla into a full-stretch save. It's the first chance of note and the new Lyon signing in his first match of the World Cup looks in the mood.

5 mins: Three free-kicks in as many minutes from Paraguay underline the South Americans' intention to rough up the Scandanavians, but Kim Kallstrom wastes two of them driving his set-pieces straight into the wall.

3 mins: Denis Caniza lunges into Freddie Ljungberg for the first booking, but Ljungberg's floated free-kick causes no danger.

2000 BST: Henrik Larsson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic get us underway as both teams aim for a vital win.

The stands are awash with yellow at Berlin's Olympiastadion, the Swedes will feel like they're playing in Stockholm considering the vast support they have brought with them.

First-choice goalkeeper Andreas Ikasson returns to the Sweden line-up after a bout of concussion while Kim Kallstrom is preferred to Anders Svensson in the middle of midfield.

Aldo Bobadilla keeps his place in the Paraguay goal after Justo Villar was ruled out for the rest of the tournament. Roque Santa Cruz again leads the line up front and Jorge Nunez comes in for Delio Toledo in midfield.
