Chilavert ruled out
Jose Luis Chilavert
Jose Luis Chilavert will definitely miss the Anfield match
Paraguay captain Jose Luis Chilavert has been ruled out of Wednesday's friendly against England at Anfield.

The extrovert Strasbourg goalkeeper has been nursing a shoulder injury and did not travel to join his international team-mates.

Paraguay spokesman Miguel Angel Fretef confirmed: "Chilavert is out of the game and will definitely not play, but what is yet to be decided is whether he will join up with the rest of the squad."

Coach Cesare Maldini, the legendary former Italy boss, is also without Toro Acuna.

The Real Zaragoza midfielder sprained ligaments in his right knee during Sunday's Primera Liga clash with Athletic Bilbao.
