Paraguay name squad
Paraguay coach Cesare Maldini
Paraguay have drawn both their games under Maldini
Paraguay coach Cesare Maldini believes his team could surprise England when the two teams meet in next Wednesday's international friendly.

This game is very important because we are going to play against a power in the game
Cesare Maldini

England host the South American's at Liverpool's Anfield stadium as both coaches fine-tune their squads for this summer's World Cup.

Naming his squad for the match, Maldini said: "This game is very important because we are going to play against a power in the game, but I think our team will cause a surprise.

"I want to use this game to see how the team behaves playing away from home, and to have a look at the greatest possible number of players."

Midfielder Roberto Acuna, who missed last month's 1-1 draw with Nigeria in London due to injury, has been recalled for the game.

Left back Richard Rojas, who plays for Argentina's River Plate, was not in the squad as he continued his self-imposed exile.

Paraguay face South Africa, Spain and Slovenia in their World Cup first round group.

They have drawn both their games under Maldini since he replaced Sergio Markarian, who had led Paraguay through the qualifiers before being sacked.

Squad:

Goalkeepers: Jose Luis Chilavert (Racing Strasburg, France), Ricardo Tavarelli (Olimpia), Justo Villar (Libertad)
Defenders: Francisco Arce (Palmeiras, Brasil), Pedro Sarabia (River Plate, Argentina), Celso Ayala (River Plate, Argentina), Carlos Gamarra (AEK Athens, Greece), Denis Caniza (Santos Laguna, Mexico), Julio Cesar Caceres (Olimpia), Daniel Sanabria (Libertad)
Midfielders: Roberto Acuna (Real Zaragoza, Spain), Carlos Paredes (Porto, Portugal), Diego Gavilan (UAG, Mexico), Victor Quintana (Olimpia), Estanislao Struway (Libertad), Carlos Bonet (Libertad), Gustavo Morinigo (Libertad), Jorge Campos (Universidad Catolica, Chile)
Forwards: Jose Cardozo (Toluca, Mexico), Roque Santa Cruz (Bayern Munich, Germany), Richart Baez (Olimpia), Mauro Caballero (Olimpia)
