Lincoln Ladies FA Women's Super League bid success
Lincoln earn Super League place
Lincoln Ladies have been successful in their bid to be part of the Football Association Women's Super League.
Eight clubs, including Premier League sides Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton, will take part in the new league, which starts in summer 2011.
"It's always been an aim of the club to play at the highest level," Chairman Geoff Adams told BBC Lincolnshire.
Lincoln captain Megan Harris added: "Waking up and hearing this news is fantastic, it's absolutely brilliant."
Harris continued: "We feel a good pressure, we've put in some really good performances. Everybody wants to play at that highest level and we know that if we want to compete we will have to bring in international players.
"But we all have seven or eight games to prove we are worthy of a place in the squad," she added.
"We'll be able to say we are the premier club in Lincolnshire. Hopefully we can get the support of the people to come along and support us and help raise the club's profile even further."
Adams added: "To achieve this is a source of great pride and we'll be able to attract much better sponsorship than ever before."
