Lincoln Ladies make bid to join FA Super League

Lincoln Ladies eye Super League place

Lincoln Ladies FC are bidding to join the new FA Super League which starts in the summer of 2011.

If successful, it will see the Lady Imps playing in the highest league of women's football and make them one of the top eight clubs in the country.

Former Imps manager Glen Harris told BBC Lincolnshire: "It's very important for the club to be in with the big guns like Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for us to attract better players."

All the bidding clubs will have to submit their bids to the Football Association by mid-December.

Lincoln captain Megan Harris told BBC Look North: "It's a really good opportunity for us because we want to play at the highest level possible."

Lincoln plan to divide their homes games between Lincoln City's Sincil Bank stadium and the Ashby Road ground of non-league Lincoln United.
