Yeovil Town Ladies have re-written the record books by humiliating Reading Ladies 21-0.

The Glovers were 10-0 up at half-time and went on to record the biggest-ever victory in the South West Combination Women's Football League.

"In this league goal difference does count and we had to punish them as much as we could," captain Sarah Lawler told BBC Somerset.

Midfielder Lindsey Roe top-scored for the Glovers with eight goals.

Striker Jemma Tewkesbury followed her with four strikes while defender Rachael Edwards weighed in with a hat-trick.

Georgia Coles scored a brace on her debut and the rout was completed with goals from Lawler, Demi Agar, Amy Wild and Anusia Rourke.

"We'd done a lot of finishing practice and it didn't go particularly successfully," admitted Lawler.

"We had a lot of misses and were wondering whether we'd get any better."

Yeovil Town Ladies' next fixture is at home to Cullompton Rangers on Saturday.

"Cullompton is a bit of a local derby," added Lawler.

"A couple of seasons ago when we were fighting to get out of the league below it was always them that got in the way of winning."
