Nicola Devine scored twice in Sunderland's 9-0 win
Sunderland ladies bounced back to their best with their 9-0 Premier League win at Curzon Ashton on Sunday.
After being held to a 2-2 draw the previous weekend but there was to be no repeat of that close scoreline as they took full control in Manchester.
"It was a fantastic team performance and from back to front we did our jobs very well," said manager Mick Mulhern.
"We laid down a marker for everyone else in this league to see and it's up to us to maintain the high standards."
Sunderland led 5-0 at the break thanks to braces from Sophie Williams and Natalie Gutteridge and a fine effort from Nicola Devine.
The second-half showed no let up as the Wearsiders scored four more goals without reply to seal a memorable away win - with Williams capping her afternoon with yet another goal to complete a hat-trick.
