Markus Schroth dragged the Germans back into the match just before half-time.

But late goals by substitute Lomana Lua-Lua and Nolberto Solano from the penalty spot wrapped up the game for Bobby Robson's men.

They face French side Troyes in one of the three Intertoto Cup finals with a place in the UEFA Cup on offer for the winners.
