York City's on-loan defender Chris Carruthers says he is benefitting from his time at the club.
The 26-year-old joined initially for a month from Oxford United but the deal has now been extended until January.
"It's been great to get some games again and to get back into it and I'm starting now to get to a good level of fitness," he told BBC Radio York.
"I'm enjoying the football again since I moved here which is the most important thing."
Since transfering at the end of September Carruthers has been a regular in the side which has moved up to third in Blue Square Premier.
He said: "It's a brilliant run and the lads are playing well and playing together and it's showing on the field and showing in results.
"They're a good bunch of lads and they're rightly where they should be now in the league."
Carruthers has turned his attention now to York's FA Cup second round tie at Cambridge United.
"It's going to be a tough game. They're a good side with good footballers in the team which will suit us.
"I think we'll go there and and we can mix it up a bit. We can play them and be the ugly side again which we do really well.
"It'll be a good game and definitely a winnable game for us."
