York sign up midfielder Rothery

York City

York City have signed right-sided midfielder Gavin Rothery on a short-term contract.

The 21-year-old impressed manager Colin Walker in midweek when he played for York's reserves against Hartlepool.

The Leeds-born player spent time at his home-town club during Kevin Blackwell's time as manager and has also been involved with England Under-19's.

Rothery will be eligible for Saturday's FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie at home to Mansfield Town.
