Redfearn gets York coaching role
Neil Redfearn
Redfearn will be in charge of York's younger players
York City have appointed Neil Redfearn as their new youth-team coach after Eric Winstanley was promoted to head coach at Kitkat Crescent.

Winstanley will now have responsibility for all coaching throughout the club.

Boss Colin Walker said: "I'm delighted to have someone with Neil's experience on the staff. He gives us much needed support on the coaching side."

The 42-year-old played under Walker and Winstanley at Barnsley when they were promoted to the Premiership in 1997.

Walker added: "He's got a wealth of experience and he's only just finished playing. I think he'll be a great role model for the kids."

Winstanley had combined the role of youth-team coach with that of Walker's assistant since November.
