York City have made the decision to release eight players following their defeat in the Conference play-off semi-finals against Morecambe.
Steve Bowey, Mark Convery, Lewis McMahon, Nathan Peat, Anthony Lloyd, James Dudgeon and Darren Hollingsworth have not been offered new deals.
In addition, full-back Craig James, who finished the season on loan from Darlington, has not been kept on.
Boss Billy McEwan has offered contracts to 13 players.
Tom Evans, Darren Craddock, David McGurk, Danny Parslow, Manny Panther, Neal Bishop, Martyn Woolford, Ross Greenwood, Craig Farrell, Richard Brodie, Ben Purkiss, Alex Rhodes and Phil Bell are all considering the offers put to them.
