York City have signed young Preston North End defender Kyle Armstrong on non-contract terms.
The teenage centre-back has joined the Minstermen after reaching the end of his scholarship at Deepdale.
York boss Billy McEwan made the pre-deadline swoop for Armstrong following the end of Jon Maloney's loan spell from Doncaster.
Meanwhile, Doncaster forward Ben Jackson has extended his loan at York until the end of the season.
