York City have signed Middlesbrough's attacking midfielder Craig Dove on a month's loan.
Dove has played first-team football for Boro
The 20-year-old, who has made two first-team appearances since coming through the youth system at the Riverside Stadium, is set to make his City debut at Mansfield on Saturday.
"Fortunately, Middlesbrough have played ball and Steve McClaren in particular was keen to help out his home-town club," said York player-manager Brass.
"Craig is a very talented young player and we are delighted to have him here. A number of clubs were interested in taking him on loan but we have got him.
"He is someone we would like to keep for the remainder of the season but we will have to see how it goes and whether he enjoys himself.
"Hopefully, he can do what Michael Ingham and Michael Proctor did during extended loan spells at Bootham Crescent before going back and forcing their way into the first team at Sunderland," Brass told the York Evening Press.
