Grant switches to Villa
York City prodigy Lee Grant has joined Aston Villa to further his footballing education.

The 16-year-old became one of the youngest players in York's history to play first-team football when he came off the bench in a fixture at the end of last season.

Having left school this summer, the centre-back was set to start a three-year scholarship with his hometown club.

However, Grant will now serve his three-year scholarship under Graham Taylor at Villa Park.

"We are currently talking to Aston Villa regarding compensation for the player, who spent six years coming through our Centre Of Excellence," City's chief executive Keith Usher told the club's website.
