Yeovil out to shock
By Andrew McKenzie

Gary Johnson
Yeovil boss Gary Johnson believes his side can add another chapter to their history of giant killing when they face Bolton in the Carling Cup second round.

The Glovers have earned a reputation for upsetting the odds in the FA Cup but face a tough task in the League Cup against high-flying Bolton on Tuesday.

Johnson told BBC Sport: "People will give us no chance, but there will be 11 versus 11 on the pitch.

"I'll be saying to my players they are only 11 human beings in white shirts."

Yeovil's finest hour came when, as a non-league side, they beat Sunderland in the fourth round of the FA Cup in 1949.

Earlier this year they gave Liverpool a fright before losing to them in the FA Cup third round.

They added Plymouth to their list of scalps in the third round of the League Cup, earning them the tie with Bolton.

Since Johnson took charge in 2001 the club has enjoyed three years of almost uninterrupted success.

They won the FA Trophy in his first year and then promotion from the Conference the following season.

Last year they were close to making the play-offs - only missing out on goal difference.

YEOVIL FACTFILE
Yeovil have made it to the first round proper of the FA Cup on 49 occasions and knocked out 20 league clubs - both non-league records
They were promoted to the Football League in 2003 for the first time in their 108-year history
After beating Sunderland in 1949 Yeovil played Man Utd in the fifth round at Maine Road in front of 81,000. They lost 8-0
Along the way they have earned plaudits for their passing game and Johnson has vowed they will not change that against Sam Allardyce's side.

He said: "We've got a bit of a reputation for being a decent football team and whenever we go to places we try and play and create an entertaining game - win, lose or draw.

"I've brought in a group of players that I knew could play football and entertain.

"We proved that against Liverpool. All the pundits were saying we couldn't play football against Liverpool.

"But I just wanted to see how our players, playing the way we can play, affect Liverpool and for an hour we did it unbelievably.

"We proved we can play our game against top opposition.

"Bolton will be the same. It's a fantastic draw for us and another chance to enhance the club's reputation on and off the field.

"They have people like Jay-Jay Okocha and others with fantastic ability and we have got a chance to match our ability against them.

We saw how Arsenal coped with Bolton and we'll try and emulate how they play
Gary Johnson
"Some of my boys still have ambitions to get to the Premiership and here's a chance for them to prove they are at that level.

"We're not under any pressure. No-one expects us to win and that's probably when teams are at their most dangerous."

Yeovil have been doing their homework in the build-up to the game, and Johnson is hoping his side can raise their performance to a new level.

"We saw how Arsenal coped with Bolton and we'll try and emulate how they play," he said.

"I said to the boys jokingly, 'I want you to play like Reyes, you be Bergkamp and you be Henry'.

"Our scouts have been having a great time going to watch Bolton against Manchester United and our southern scouts saw Arsenal and Bolton.

"It makes a change from watching some of the teams in our league, with all due respect.

"It'll be interesting to see when the reports come back. I already know Okocha is dangerous - they don't have to tell me that.

"It's been great for the club. It gives us another chance to add to the famous side of Yeovil. If you do pull off a shock it's remembered for years to come."
