Wycombe have signed midfielders Gareth Ainsworth and Kevin McLeod on free transfers, but released defender Michael Duberry by mutual consent.

Ainsworth, 36, has signed for 18 months after leaving QPR and Brighton's McLeod, 29, signs a three-month deal.

Veteran Ainsworth, who had been at QPR since 2003 and was caretaker boss at Loftus Road twice, had a loan spell at Wycombe late last year, playing twice.

Duberry, 34, joined Wycombe in the summer and made 19 appearances.

Ainsworth has made 152 appearances for Rangers since joining from Cardiff City in June 2003.

He also had a spell as assistant manager at Loftus Road under then boss Luigi De Canio two seasons ago before taking on a player-coach role under De Canio's successor, Iain Dowie.

He impressed during his loan spell at Wycombe, although his spell was cut short by a calf injury and he is still two weeks away from a return.

On leaving QPR, the former Preston North End, Lincoln City and Port Vale man told BBC London 94.9: "I want to keep going and I think the best thing for that is to end my time here.

"There's been a lot of turmoil here. But we always seem to come through it.

"Everyone involved with QPR has been fantastic with me during my time here.

"It's classed as my club now, I've been here a long time.

"I'll never forget my time here. It's a brilliant place and I'll definitely be back as a fan one day."

Ainsworth's last appearance for Rangers came in the 4-0 win over Preston in October.

McLeod started his career at Everton and played for QPR, with Ainsworth, Swansea, Colchester and Brighton.
