Lambert wants to continue his managerial career in England

Paul Lambert says he is keen to manage another club in England - despite resigning as Wycombe boss last week.

The 38-year-old, who left Wycombe after their League Two play-off defeat by Stockport, has been linked with a move back to Scotland.

But the former Scotland, Motherwell and Celtic midfielder said: "If truth be told I would like to stay in England.

"You sometimes don't have the choice to do it but it took me two years to get a reputation there and I'd like to stay."

Lambert, who played for Motherwell, Borussia Dortmund and Celtic before managing Livingston, said he hoped to continue his managerial career in England.

"You can't really pick and choose so we'll see what happens," he said.

"England is a massive country to make your mark in and it took me two years to try to get a reputation down there."
