Penalty was key moment - Saunders

Dean Saunders
Dean Saunders has won his opening two games as manager

Wrexham boss Dean Saunders says York's penalty miss was the turning point in the match as he watched his side go on to win 3-1 at the Racecourse.

The Dragons moved up to eighth in the Blue Square Premier after their first back-to-back wins in 18 months.

"I thought we played really well at times but the penalty save was the turning point," said Saunders.

"We looked frail at the back at times but I'll address that because we must tighten up."

He added: "Joe Allen and Marc Williams scored a great goal apiece, the full-backs joined in and we worked our socks off.

"We were up and at them - we've got a team of athletes and we showed some enthusiasm - but we must keep it up.

"I was proud of the ovation I got from the crowd but the players won me that because the way the team plays reflects on me."
