No quick replacement for Wrexham

Wrexham chairman Geoff Moss says he will not rush to find a replacement for manager Brian Little after admitting to making mistakes in the past.

Little left the club by mutual consent before the Dragons' 1-1 draw with Torquay United on Saturday.

"It's not our intention to rush into this," Moss told BBC Radio Wales.

"I've had three goes (at finding managers) and I've not done very well so far. We will take stock over the next few days."

The Dragons have had a poor start to life in the Blue Square Premier following their relegation from the Football League last season.

They have failed to live up to expectations slipping to 14th in the Blue Square Premier after four defeats in their last five games.

Moss said the decision was made on Friday but the decision was taken not to announce it until Saturday.

But he admitted he was not due to sit down with Little until Monday.

"Brian is a great guy and worked very hard for us, but unfortunately it didn't work out as we both wanted and that's disappointing," said Moss.

"Obviously we would have preferred to be further up the league than we are.

"Everything was extremely amicable.

"It was a really good conversation from both parties and both of use felt that it was time to have a change.

There was no resignation and no sacking, just a friendly conversation.

"Our conversation wasn't due until Monday so that caught us a little bit by surprise that it came as quickly as it did.

"We never envisaged it was going to be easy (in the Blue Square Premier), but I'm determined to put it right on the pitch and I'll do whatever it takes."
