Wrexham ready for promotion drive

Whalley believes the title's destiny is in Wrexham's hands

Wrexham forward Shaun Whalley says the Dragons have no-one to fear in the Blue Square Premier after their impressive 1-4 win at Salisbury City.

"We're definitely a force in the league - if I didn't think so I wouldn't have joined Wrexham in the summer," he said.

"We've got the squad to get promoted and I don't see why we can't with performances like that one.

"No disrespect to (former leaders) Salisbury, I don't think they'll be there at the end, but we can be."

Whalley was delighted to have been given extra space in the Dragons' formation at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium.

"I was on the left wing for the first time this season and I thought I did well and caused problems," he told BBC Sport Wales.

"I relished the extra room to run with the ball, that's my game.

"It was a great team performance, we showed the character to come from behind.

"The first goal before half-time was critical, it gave us the licence to push on after the break and I thought we really deserved the 4-1 win."
