Kearney's high hopes for Dragons

Wrexham captain Tom Kearney says his side have "nothing to fear" in the Blue Square Premier after coming from behind to draw 1-1 with Rushden.

Shaun Whalley's 75th-minute leveller made it four points from their opening three games for the Dragons.

"Rushden's a hard place to come to and there are a couple of places where we're going to have to come and grind out results," he said.

"But realistically we should be pushing for promotion."

Wrexham started their season with a thumping 5-0 win over Stevenage before being brought down to earth last Thursday with defeat at York.

But Kearney said: "First and foremost we didn't really battle at York and so we needed to set ourselves up to compete and win our individual battles.

"We're a much better footballing side than we showed at York.

"I think everyone was disappointed with Thursday, so we had a few scores to settle at Rushden.

"Still, looking at it overall, coming to Rushden and getting a draw is not a bad result."
