Wrexham central defender Gareth Evans could make his league debut at Wycombe on Saturday - just three months after being shown the Racecourse door.
The youth product, 19, was told that Wrexham could not afford a professional contract, but that changed as the club moved towards an end to administration.
"It's made me more determined to take my chance," Evans told the Daily Post.
New signing Josh Johnson is unlikely to feature until next week, having gone to Trinidad & Tobago to get a work permit.
Matty Crowell (dead leg), Shaun Pejic (Achilles) and Neil Roberts (illness) are all expected to be fit, having missed last week's 5-0 friendly loss at Port Vale.
Ryan Valentine is also expected to recover from a groin injury picked up in that defeat.
Lee Roche (broken toe) should be back within a fortnight, but Lee McEvilly and Juan Ugarte are further from fitness.
