Carlos Edwards has not started a league game for Sunderland this term
Championship leaders Wolves have signed Sunderland winger Carlos Edwards on a three-month loan deal.
Boss Mick McCarthy moved for the 29-year-old following injuries to first-choice wingers Michael Kightly and Matt Jarvis in Tuesday's defeat by Reading.
McCarthy told the club website he was delighted to bring Edwards to Molineux so quickly.
"We've lost one winger long-term and another short-term but have got a very good replacement," he said.
"Carlos is a quality player who can operate on either wing and is someone we know a lot about."
The Trinidad & Tobago international joined Sunderland from Luton Town for £1.5m in January 2007 but has lost his place on Wearside this season following the arrival of Steed Malbranque.
