Wolves manager Mick McCarthy is the latest member of the Molineux hierarchy to insist none of his talented young players will be leaving the club.

McCarthy has joined chairman Steve Morgan and chief executive Jez Moxey in saying no-one is for sale.

"There's nobody leaving," said McCarthy. "Steve and Jez have already said that so you may as well hear it from me."

"Why would we want to sell anybody? It would be really counter productive."

McCarthy told the club's website: "We are trying to bring players in to strengthen the squad.

England under-21 winger Michael Kightly has been linked with a move to either Blackburn Rovers or West Ham while Wales international goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey is attracting attention from a clutch of clubs, among them Everton.

So far this close season, Wolves have signed striker Sam Vokes from Bournemouth and bid 1.5m for Hearts and Scotland central defender Christophe Berra, according to the player's agent.
