Ward geared up for Wolves return

Wolves could have Stephen Ward available for the Championship run-in as he begins his comeback from injury.

The 22-year-old Irishman has not played since January because of tendonitis, but is now ready for a reserve run-out.

"It's been a really frustrating time having to watch when you want to be out playing or training," Ward told the club's official website.

"Now I'm feeling fit and sharp and hopefully I can be ready to help with the run-in."

Wolves go into their final six fixtures just one point behind the Championship play-off places, and could be boosted further by the news that Michael Kightly is also ready for reserve-team action after ankle surgery.

People don't need me to tell them how important these six games are

Wolves striker Stephen Ward
The England Under-21 winger has managed only two substitute appearances since the injury flared up in late November.

As far as their play-off ambitions are concerned, Ward knows a top-six place will not come easily.

"People don't need me to tell them how important these six games are and it's vital the gaffer has everyone available for what is going to be a testing time."
