Wolves coach Stuart Gray was full of praise for his team after picking up a point against Blackburn.
Gray stepped in for manager Dave Jones who fell victim to a chest infection which has swept through the squad.
"There's a bit of coughing and spluttering in there but the lads
showed plenty of character," said Gray.
"We had our chances but we didn't work Brad Friedel enough. But our work-rate has moved us a little bit closer to teams like Portsmouth.
Wolves were denied three points when Blackburn substitute Dwight Yorke equalised 11 minutes from time.
Gray only started his coaching role on Monday and admitted he had had a difficult time standing in for Jones.
"There are lots of nationalities and I don't even know all the players' names," said Gray.
"But most of the preparation for the game had been done on Tuesday before Dave was taken ill."
