Woking going full-time
Woking's Kingfield Stadium
Changes are taking place at Kingfield Stadium
Woking are planning to become the latest Nationwide Conference side to go full-time.

The switch from part-time status is planned to take place by the turn of the year.

We are going to be profesional both on and off the pitch

Woking chairman Chris Ingram

The club hopes the move will help them preserve their Conference status under new manager Glenn Cockerill and then enjoy further success in the future.

"We need to do this to be able to compete in the Conference now," said chairman Chris Ingram.

"We are going to be professional both on and off the pitch and we hope the supporters will follow us.

"We have to thank the hard-core supporters for turning up even over the last few weeks when games have not been pleasant to watch.

"Our main goal now is Conference survival and we have plenty of games left to finish in a good position," Ingram told the Cards' official website.

Woking, currently third from bottom of the table, already hold some training sessions during the day and players will decide over the next few weeks whether they can commit to full-time football.

Assuming Woking make the switch, they will become the ninth full-time club in the Conference.
