Dons open stadium against Chelsea
Milton Keynes Dons
Milton Keynes Dons played their first game at their new 22,000-seater stadium on Wednesday evening - a pre-season friendly against a young Chelsea XI.

The League Two outfit's move to the new Stadium MK in the Denbigh district of the town comes after nearly four years playing at the National Hockey Stadium.

With the club only allowed to sell 5,000 tickets for the "ramp-up" event, the game attracted a crowd of 4,477.

The first League game at the stadium will be against Bury on 11 August.

The new ground has been under construction since February 2005.

It complies with Uefa's Four Star stadium specifications, and there is the provision to eventually increase the capacity to 32,000.

Dons boss Paul Ince fielded a different team in each half of Wednesday's match, which they won 4-3 - while Chelsea made 10 substitutions at the interval.
