McDonald earns Dons deal
Dons boss Stuart Murdoch
Murdoch has been impressed with McDonald
Wimbledon have completed the signing of former Southampton and Bournemouth striker Scott McDonald.

The Australian forward has been training with the club and scored twice for the Dons reserves in the 2-2 draw with Portsmouth last week.

He has impressed enough to earn a month-to-month contract with a view to it becoming more permanent when the Dons come out of administration.

McDonald was released by Southampton earlier this year and ended the season with Bournemouth, but was not offered a contract with the Cherries.

He is expected to feature for the Dons reserves against Charlton Athletic on Tuesday and could earn a place in the first-team squad for this weekend's match against Crystal Palace.

Dons boss Stuart Murdoch told the club's official website: "Scott is a talented striker who made a few appearances for the first-team at Southampton, but was made surplus to their requirements.

"He has been with us for a while in training and he's done very well.

"I'm pleased to get him in and now it's down to Scott to show that he can perform on a regular basis."
