Burton in quit threat
Terry Burton
Burton: Could quit Wimbledon
Wimbledon chairman Charles Koppel will hold talks with Terry Burton after his manager's threat to quit.

Burton was angry after his side threw away a 3-0 lead in Wednesday's Division One game against Portsmouth to finish up drawing.

He could quit the Dons because he believes talk about a move to Milton Keynes has divided the club and unsettled his players.

Burton said: "I am considering my position at the club.

"Not everybody is pulling in the same direction and it's not happening.

The club disillusions me and I don't know where the support is going to come from
Terry Burton
"Every day we are going out and working hard and even tonight when we were 3-0 up there was a bad feeling about the place.

"The club disillusions me and I don't know where the support is going to come from.

"There is no money and there is nothing for the club to hang on to.

"The whole place stinks at the moment and tonight there was a bad feeling around the ground.

"This is the worst I have felt at the club since I arrived and the feeling is even worse than when we were relegated.

"There are small problems everywhere around the club and there is only so many times I can plaster over a crack.

"It seems as though somebody has a hoodoo over the club and every time I paper over one incident something else happens."

Koppel remains optimistic that Burton will stay.

"We'll be sitting down and having a chat about it - but as far as we're concerned Terry has the full support of the club and the board.

"We think he's absolutely the right manager for the club - but we're going through some difficult times at the moment.

"It's been an emotional evening but we certainly believe he's the right man for the job - we have got another 40 games to play this season."
