Wigan centre-back Emerson Thome has been allowed to leave the club.
Wigan were Thome's fifth club in England
The 34-year-old spent 18 months with Wigan after moving from Sunderland, but made only 20 appearances during his time at the JJB Stadium.
Thome joined Championship side Derby on loan in November after falling down the pecking order at Wigan.
"It is always sad when a player leaves, but we have parted on good terms and we wish him all the very best for the future," said Wigan boss Paul Jewell.
"Emo is a great character, a good man and I have enjoyed working with him."
Thome made only three appearances this season, all in the Carling Cup.
The Brazilian has had a long career in British football with stints at Sheffield Wednesday, Chelsea, Bolton and Sunderland.
