Jewell still keen to sign Blake
Burnley striker Robbie Blake
Blake could still move to Wigan
Wigan manager Paul Jewell has indicated he could make a third bid for Burnley striker Robbie Blake.

The Latics have already had offers of 500,000 and 600,000 turned down by their Lancashire rivals, who insist the 28-year-old is not for sale.

Jewell said: "The position is that we made an offer for him and it's been turned down, it's as simple as that.

"We made a large bid for a striker in this division not so long ago that never came out into the open."

Jewell added: "Just because we won 5-0 (against Preston) it doesn't mean I'm going to bury my head in the sand.

"I'm still going to try and bring players into the squad."
