Mahon has signed up for Wigan until 2007

Blackburn midfielder Alan Mahon has joined First Division Wigan for an undisclosed fee after signing a deal that runs until the summer of 2007.
Latics boss Paul Jewell said: "I've been after Alan for a while and I'm delighted we've finally brought him in.
"We're lucky to have him and he'll give us a natural option down the left side, something we've not had for a while.
"He'll bring Premiership quality here and with him being only 25, he probably still has his best years ahead of him."
Mahon joined Tranmere as an apprentice in 1994 before moving to Sporting Lisbon for the 2000-1 season.
His spell in Portugal was shortlived and he completed the rest of his contract there on loan to Blackburn.
He signed a permanent deal at Ewood Park in July 2001 but struggled to find a place in the starting line-up last season.
As a result he was loaned to Cardiff City for much of the campaign and was also loaned to Ipswich this season.
