Hollins led Weymouth to Blue Square Premier survival last season
Weymouth manager John Hollins has been suspended from his duties by the club with immediate effect.
The Blue Square Premier side will launch an investigation into whether there has been a breach of contract.
Assistant manager Alan Lewer will take charge of team affairs, starting with Saturday's home match against Wrexham.
Hollins, who has been in charge at the Dorset club since January, confirmed to BBC Radio Solent that he has been placed on "gardening leave".
A statement on the club website read: "In order to ensure that the matter is dealt with fairly and without prejudice it is not possible for the club to disclose any further detail at this stage.
"It is anticipated that the process will be complete within the next 28 days, following which a further statement will be made."
