West Ham defender Ragnvald Soma says he is optimistic his move to Austrian Vienna can still go through.

The Austrian side had expressed an interest in the Norwegian defender but were not prepared to pay the asking priceof around £600,000.

Soma said: "It was said nothing was going to happen with Vienna.

"But I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is and we will just have to wait and see. I am trying to keep cool.

"I will be annoyed if something doesn't come up because I haven't got a future at West Ham and I want to move on."

Soma's agent Gunnar Martin Kjenner had not been as positive as his client on Monday though.

"West Ham are ready to discuss the fee, but I feel the Austrians haven't shown much will to negotiate," Kjenner said.

Soma has made just nine first team appearances in his two seasons with West Ham.

Kjenner admitted that no other clubs were currently interested in Soma, meaning the defender is likely to return for pre-season training.
